All-Star Fun

NASCAR's All-Star week really is a breath of fresh air. It's just plain fun competition with big rewards for those who win the various events. I was out in the field last night discussing project plans with a client when the focus shifted to NASCAR. I had noticed a Craftsman Truck bar stool in the clients dining room [very cool looking] so I had to get on the subject and after he and I hashed over the various "crap" goings-on, favorite drivers...etc., we both spoke about the All-Star week and race with great relief and passion filled joy. It's the kind of stuff that makes it all worth it and enjoying a much less serious side of the sport. I was reading a recent post, "Shocking- SHOCKING I tell ya!" at Full Throttle and marc had a link posted labeled high dudgeon. What a bunch a whine-asser's!! It's comical yet it reveals how some fans are just full of the negativity associated with other's shortcomings. I love this sport and the people, but take the time to smell the roses!! It's supposed to be fun!!~~~~

I tend to scoff at the NASCAR hype attached to many of these non-championship events but they are fun. The racing is often pretty good too. The truck race Friday ought to be great - they always are - and after the three hour pre-race show Saturday, the races will be fun. Enjoy.

Thanks for the mention, but I have to apologize for pointing people to such a bunch of moronic buffoons, but that's the way "civil" discourse is practiced over there.

While not a great fan of non-points paying events I have to admit without the pressure involved the teams and their drivers for the most part like All Star Week.

That in the end can only help thier mental attitude for the following pressure cooker.

Not to mention they get to spend two weeks in their backyard so to speak.
